I bought this because it is a superb value for a zinc oxide/titanium dioxide based sunscreen. But it is actually a mix of mineral (zinc/Ti dioxide) and chemical sunscreen ingredients. There is no way to tell this from the amazon product page because the active ingredients are suspiciously absent- instead of showing a preview of the whole peel away back panel, there is only a zoom on the inactive ingredients.

The main active chemical is octinoxate (7.5%), which is considered a "UV filters with higher toxicity concerns" by the Environmental Working Group and given a hazard score of 6/10. The other active ingredients are lower on the hazard scale- ensulizole 2% 3/10, octisalate 4.5% 4/10, and titanium dioxide 2.38%, zinc oxide 4.85% both 2/10.

I like the feel of the product, it goes on nicely and doesn't leave white streaks. I just wish the manufacturer would replace the octinoxate with a safer UV protection agent.

I have been using this product for a few weeks now and I am pleased with the moisturizing that it does. Prior to this I was using Clinique dry skin face lotion and do have to say that although I liked the moisturizing the clinique product didit lacked the SPF hence why I made the switch to try something new. If you are familiar with Clinique products you too may notice the difference in how your skin feels.

PROS
-Moisturizes well
-Broad spectrum SPF protective
-Relatively cheap compared to other face moisturizers
-Doesn't make my face feel sticky as other products have

CONS
-Strong sunscreen odor
-Difficult to completely rub in and absorb into skin
-Can leave a residue

As noted by the cons list be forewarned that this product has a very strong sunscreen smell. I smell it all day as I am wearing this product. It will not prevent me from continuing to use it as the benefit of wearing sunscreen daily outweigh the smell. Also it does take a while to completely rub the product into the skin and even after some time you may still be able to see the faint white residue on your face but nothing too noticeable. Lastly, I have to wear a hat sometimes throughout the day at work and the product does rub off with sweat and will leave a white residue inside your hat or maybe another headpiece.

The white cast is intense. It pills and does NOT do well with sweat - so when you’re exercising and sweating and it gets near your eyes it can sting wildly. I tried so hard to make it my holy grail last summer but I could not. When I saw myself in the gym I looked ridiculous. The pilling; the patchiness... no!! Will use it on my body I guess but not the face. Try Elta MD Uv clear, DRMTLGY SPF, Paula’s choice SPF, or Japanese brands like Skin Aqua instead!!!!!!

I bought this moisturizer for the summer because I normally use an SPF 15 moisturizer and wanted to up my everyday sun protection. I don't think this product works for the summer: whenever I sweat it gets in my eyes and stings. I do not even apply it to my eye area. I might use this moisturizer from fall to spring and use a regular, water-resistant sunscreen during the summer.

Good points: texture and smell are agreeable and it doesn't feel nearly as heavy as a regular sunscreen. If you have darker skin it might leave a white cast but if you're paler like me then it shouldn't be an issue. It is not greasy but can leave your skin with a bit of a glow.

This is a great cream. I'm in PA school and we had a dermatologist come in to teach our dermatology section. I was a little freaked out about skin cancer afterwards and decided I should start using some sun protection for my face to prevent it as much as possible. She recommended using a product with zinc as an active ingredient. This cream contains zinc so I decided to give it a try. [This is not medical advice. I just wanted to provide some background as part of my review]

The cream goes in super easily. I haven't noticed an increase in acne, which is amazing because I'm very prone to breakouts. Best of all, one squirt gets my entire face covered. I've been using it for a few months now (not as consistently as I should, but fairly consistently) and have yet to run out. It will definitely last you a long time! I recommended it to my mom and she seems to be enjoying it as well. She said similar things about being able to get by with only one squirt.

It's worth a shot in my opinion!
