Power ratings on Rockford Fosgate amplifiers conform to CEA-2006 industry standards. These guidelines mean your amplifier’s output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings.

Class bd
Rockford Fosgate bd topology is a revolutionary patented design, integrating a technology that is more efficient than typical class AB and has lower distortion than class D designs. POWER bd amplifiers are 75-80% efficient vs. 20-60% efficient class ab amplifiers. What does that mean? More power from your amplifier with less drain on your vehicles electrical and charging system.

Constant Power
Music and speakers have a dynamic relationship. As the frequency of music varies, so does the impedance of the speaker. This patent pending technology gives the amplifier the ability to instantaneously deliver its maximum output power to the speaker without regard to its varying impedance while still maintaining its high-efficiency and thermal performance.

Differential Inputs
Differential input circuitry measures the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal. The circuitry subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise) resulting in only the clean signal. This allows only clean signal to enter the amplifier.

DSM
DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.

Dynamic Thermal Management
Heat is often inefficiently dissipated across a heatsink causing “hot spots”. Rockford Fosgate engineers have developed an award winning cooling design called DTM. This patent pending design seamlessly manages the output of power supply temperatures, while evenly distributing the excess heat across the entire amplifier.

MEHSA³
MEHSA³ (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application–gen. 3) reduces MOSFET temperatures, lowers distortion, increases durability and prolongs the output device life span.

Punch EQ2
In the early 70’s, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles. Utilizing a real-time analyzer and pink noise, he would graph out the acoustical characteristics of each car he tested. Jim discovered three problems that were common to all cars: a midbass hump between 100-275Hz, a steep roll-off of high frequencies from 2kHz up to 20kHz, and reduced bass response below 50Hz.

The Punch EQ on-board equalization circuit helps correct for these acoustical deficiencies in the listening environment. When set to Low-Pass(LP) operation, it becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.

TO-247 MOSFETs
Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps.

Customizable 9″ touchscreen We live in tablet times, and Alpine’s iLX-F259 multimedia receiver gives the people what they want – a 9″ touchscreen that “floats” over top other dash controls and fits in vehicles that previously couldn’t accommodate a comparable touchscreen receiver. Best of all, an oversized interface means you get big, intuitive controls and plenty of information at a glance, so it’s easier to keep your eyes on the road. Alpine has also made this receiver their most customizable, letting you drag-and-drop audio sources to create up to three home screens that you can swipe between. You can even personalize backgrounds with your own photos. This is your radio, your way, with all of Alpine’s trademark sonic capabilities and the very best smartphone integration. Works in most dashes The iLX-F259 comes in two main pieces: a 2″ tall chassis and a 9″ touchscreen. The chassis fits in most single-DIN dash openings, and since there’s no disc player, the mounting depth shouldn’t be an issue for most vehicles. Once you’ve mounted the chassis in your dash opening, you can choose from five available vertical mounting positions for the screen, giving you the flexibility to enjoy the radio without blocking essential dash climate controls. Your vents might be partially blocked, but Alpine designed the radio to function under typical in-vehicle temperatures. Adjust to your liking Once you’ve determined the best vertical position for the display, you also have the option of changing the screen viewing angle up to 45 degrees forward or 20 degrees backward.
